Updates and Improvements to Trade Board

arrow leftGo Back

Greetings fellow instructors!

The Trade board (https://trades.twu557.org) has gone through some significant under-the-hood upgrades, with the added result of some additional features that are now available for your use. The user interface remains the same, but there a few additional options which hopefully will make the site an improved tool.

  • You can now make changes to your name, your email address, and your password from within the program. Click on your name in the upper right menu bar to see “Edit My Profie” and “Change Password”. Keep in mind the email address you use determines the email for login as well as the email to which is sent copies of the requests sent to scheduling.
  • There is now a one click method to reinstate an event that has been placed “in process” that you now need to re-post. Simply find your event that is “in process” and click the “reinstate” icon on the right hand side. That will immediately reclassify that trade as “available”. You can also edit the trade if you wish, which is something you could do all along.
  • There is also a new “Filter” selection at the top of the available trades listing. You can use this to narrow down what you might be looking for in terms of date range, event type, period, and so on. You also filter for a specific instructor name as well.
  • There are also some improvements with the pagination that will hopefully make navigating the various pages easier and more logical.
  • The primary changes are under the hood, where the software that runs the prograrm has been updated to a more current edition which will make updates in the future easier.

Please keep in mind that the system has some limitations. There is no direct data connection between LEAD OPs and the trade program beyond sending them the request. They do not monitor the site or make updates within it, which limits certain functionality.

Additionally, the program cannot verify the legality of a trade (such as time constraints or qualifications). Everyone appreciates and depends on your continued attention to these details when submitting trade requests.

As always, I welcome your feedback on the tradeboard, especially suggestons to improve it.
