Fellow instructors,
Happy New Year to each of you! We hope the coming year will provide you with many opportunities to serve our pilot group, training in various topics and events, and that you will find it to be an enjoyable and rewarding year.
One opportunity that is quickly approaching is the election of TWU557 board members. Board members serve for a term of 3 years with the terms ending March 31 and beginning April 1st. This year, we will have two vacancies on the board that will be up for election: President and Secretary/Treasurer. These positions are open to any member in good standing.
Please consider the opportunity to be a part of this work. In February we will be asking for you to officially submit names into nomination. We are hopeful that many of you will recognize the importance of these positions, and the satisfaction that comes with contributing to the welfare of all of us as instructors. Be on the outlook for additional information in the near future.
A couple of items of note from our last meeting with the Company. First, Tom has sent you all an excellent summary of the hiring/retention bonuses that are due you in the coming months. Please take advantage of that material. If you missed it, let us know and we will be happy to send a copy. Along those lines, the Company has informed us that effective in 2024, there will no longer be any incentive bonuses offered to new instructors. Also, the $5000 referral incentive has also been sun-setted.
We have recently set up email addresses for you to contact the union Scheduling Committee and the union Professional Standards Committee. Please feel free to communicate with these individuals as you feel the need. The members of those committees can be found on the twu557.org website. Those email addresses are as follows:
